Arena Football Rules<= /b>

·          = The official’s call is final in all cases. The DO-IT-ALL and officials reserve the right to eject anyone for mis-conduct.

·= ;      =     The official set of rules can be found at the desk.

·          All teams must have a minimum of a (5) man roster, maximum of 10. Minimum of 4 players to play a game. All players must sign-in on = the waiver at the front desk every week in order to be eligible to play in their game.

·= ;      =     Teams will play 5 against 5. Offense will have 1 quarterback, 1 center, and 3 receiver / runningbacks. Center is eligible receiver / runningback. (No center sneaks.) If the center picks = up the ball to get a grip on the ball, he must reset it for at least 1 second befo= re the snap.

·= ;      =     Teams have a 5 minute grace period in which to field a team to = start a game.

·          Each team is required to have one designated captain. The captain is the only person fro= m each team who is allowed to talk with the referees in matters of the question of= a call or penalty. Others playe= rs doing so may be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. This rule will be strictly enforced! This rule is at referees discretion.

·= ;      =     Passing and rushing plays allowed. Quarterback can run only once per set of downs. Unlimited number of handoffs.=

·= ;      =     Defense can rush the quarterback after 5 seconds. The ref will count the 5 seconds and step off the line of scrimmage to initiate the rush. One blitz every 4 downs. Unlimited number of rushers= .

·= ;      =     First down at center line of field only.

·      =     The offensive team will have a maximum of 15 seconds to start the next play after the referee has s= et the ball.=

·= ;      =     Each game will consist of (2) 22 minute halves with 4 minutes between halves.

·= ;      =     The clock will only stop for team time outs and official time outs.

·= ;      =     Each team will get (2) 30 second = time outs per game. Only on= -field players may call a timeout.

·= ;      =     For a legal catch, you must have control of the ball and 1 foot in bounds. If any other part of the body is = in contact with the out-of-bounds, it is not a legal catch. Players jumping to catch ball may = not be pushed out of bounds while in the air.

·= ;      =     Kickoffs are from the 5 yard line. The ball will be downed at the point of contact with a player or where it w= ent out of bounds. NO advancing the ball. Receiving team may line up at the midpoint of the field. No on-side kicks. All players on the kicking team mu= st be lined up behind the ball before kicking.

·= ;      =     Fumbles are ruled dead where they= hit the ground and remain the possession of the team last in possession. Dropped returns and snaps will be treated as fumbles. If the fumble is recovered be= fore it touches the ground the ball is considered live.

·= ;      =     No hard pads or spikes allowed on= the field. Soft pads and wraps only. If in doubt, check with referee before game.

·= ;      =     All players on a team should try to = wear the same colored jerseys or shirts. Failure to do so will result in the team wearing colored pennies.

·          All players will wear a flag belt with (2) flags (provided). Flags to be worn at the side w/ sh= irt tucked in the shorts or pants. Tucking the jersey inside the flag belt is not acceptable.=

·= ;      =     Free substitutions at any point between plays. Players must be outside the doors in order to be not on the field. The sidelines are considered on-field. Players may not enter the playing = field during a play.

·= ;      =     A coin toss at the beginning of t= he game will give the winner choice of goal or to kick/receive the ball (the option= of assigning which team will wear pennies if necessary may be added when neede= d). Remaining choice will be given to the other team.

·          <= span style=3D'font-size:9.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;line-height:90%;font-fam= ily: Arial'>Teams will switch goals at half time.

·          No bumping on the line of scrimmage, not even within 5 yards. No physical contact between player= s. Contact will penalized as pass interference. Excessive contact will be penalize= d as unsportsmanlike conduct, with the possibility of a personal foul.

·= ;      =     Punts will be from the line of scrimmage or behind with NO rush. The ball will be downed at the poi= nt of contact with a player or out-of bounds line. NO advancing the bal= l. Punting team must announce the punt before the center is over the ba= ll. Defense may attempt to block the punt from the line of scrimmage, but may never cross it; before, during, or after th= e kick (even if they have jumped and are in the air).

·= ;      =     Field goals will be snapped to a holder and the team will have 10 seconds to complete the play. NO= rushing on the field goals. Defense may attempt to block the kick from the = line of scrimmage. For rushing procedures and clarification, see previous rule. Field goal attempts must be announ= ced before the center is over the ball. Missed field goals coming up short may not be returned. Possesion will switch teams.

·= ;      =     Extra point kick is from the 5 ya= rd line. (1 point). Blocked kicks can be returned by the offense or defense if= it is caught in the air. A block= ed kick which is caught in the air and advanced to the goal line shall be awar= ded 1 point. For clarification on rushing procedures, see previous rule.

·= ;      =     Receivers may be in motion at the snap. Unlimited number of players can be in motion. A man in motion may advance toward= s the line of scrimmage, but may not enter the neutral zone or cross the line of scrimmage.

·= ;      =     Touchbacks will be played from th= e 5 yard line.

·          No picks may be set by any player.&n= bsp; Crossing patterns are legal, but physical contact by the offensive player on a defensive player constitutes an illegal pick.=

·          Downfield offensive players must eliminate themselves from <= span class=3DGramE>interfering wit= h any defensive player unless they are the ball carrier. In the instance that an offensive = player interferes with the defense downfield, the play is downed at the spot of th= e infraction or at the= ball carriers position at the= time of the infraction. To elimina= te yourself from interference, exit the playing field to the sidelines of the field. In doing so, be sure n= ot to interfere with the defense as you will still be penalized, even if you are = just trying to get off the field.

·= ;      =     6 points for a touchdown.

·= ;      =     Only after a touchdown has been scored, the team kicking off will receive 1 ex= tra point for splitting the uprights. If the kick hits the yellow tape uprights, the kick is no good. Does not= count at start of game or after halftime.

·= ;      =     Extra point conversion is from th= e 5 yard line. (worth 2 points) An extra point conversion which is returned by the defense to their respective goal line shall receive 2 points.

·= ;      =     3 points for a field goal (ball cannot touch the uprights to count). Blocked field goals can be returned by= the defense if caught in the air. The ball is dead once it touches the ground.<= o:p>

·= ;      =     Safeties are 2 points.=

·= ;      =     Balls are playable off of cross b= eams and ceiling, but not off of nets or boards.

·= ;      =     Players with one flag are conside= red eligible receivers but may not advance the ball after the catch.=

·= ;      =     Players intentionally pulling fla= gs off of players other than the ball carriers will be called for unsportsmanl= ike conduct.   Flags should be dropped where they were pulled, excessive throwing of the flag will result = in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

·= ;      =     If quarterback crosses line of scrimmage, ball is dead (exception on quarterback run).
·= ;      =     End zone has no out of bounds lines. Players must be established in<= /span>-bounds for a legal catch. Ball is dead if it hits the nets or boards. Players may not be touching the ne= ts or boards before or during the catch.

·          Defensive players may not push offensive players out of bounds in o= rder to prevent a catch or advancement of the ball. In the case of an infraction of th= is rule, defensive holding will be the call with the possibility of unsportsmanlike conduct being called depending on the severity of the infraction.

·          Offensive players are responsible for avoiding collisions with a tackling defensive player. No= stiff arms or lowering of the shoulders.

·         = Players who are penalized for a 2 minute power play will not be replaced by a teammate until after the penalty. If one player receives 2 – 2 minute penalties in one game, they will be ejected for the rest of the game= or possibility of ejection from the following weeks game. Two game ejections in o= ne season by any one player results in ejection from the next weeks game. A third ejection by that player will result in him being expelled from the remainder of the league (no refunds for expelled players). No roster substitution shall be all= owed.

·         Ball must be set by the referee before every play, including extra point attempts.=

·         After every play, the ball shall = be returned to the referee in a timely and sensible manner. If this rule is broken, players sh= all be penalized with a delay of game penalty with a possibility of a per= sonal foul.

·         Players may not go out of bounds during a play and then return to t= he playing field. The penalty sh= all be an illegal substitution.<= span style=3D'font-family:Arial'>

·         The ball is spotted where it is when the player is ruled down. A player is down if he has one kne= e or elbow on the ground or their flag has been pulled.

·         Any player in possession of the ball is not allowed to leave the gr= ound in the form of a jump or leap. Players are allowed to dive forward, but not in a means to go throug= h a defender.

·          TEAMS = ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOR OF THEIR FANS &/OR SUPPORTERS. SPECTATORS MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE F= OR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR OR GAME INTERFERENCE. TEAMS MAY BE PENALIZED FOR ACTION = TAKEN BY THEIR FANS &/OR SUPPORTERS. ACTIONS TAKEN ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF DO-IT-ALL REFEREES &/OR MANAGEMENT.

·          SPECTA= TORS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELD AT ANY TIME OTHER THAN FOR HELP = WITH AN INJURY.

·          ONLY PLAYERS SIGNED IN AT THE DESK ARE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD.

·          MERCY = RULE – If a team should fall behind by 50 points or more, then the team lo= sing shall play with an extra player (6 on the field) until the point difference= is 30 points or less.=

·      =    After a score, the referee will mar= k the score on the scoreboard, when both referees are ready, they will blow a whistle. From that whistle, t= he team kicking will have 20 seconds to kick off. If the kick is not off, the penalty shall be 5 yards before the next play.&nbs= p; After the kick off, the referee will provide the defensive team with= a maximum of 5 seconds to get set for the next play. This time allowance is at the disc= retion of the referee.

·         All make-up games must be played before the final week of the regul= ar season. Any games that need t= o be made-up will result in an additional $20 fee per game if the game is made u= p on an off league nights&n= bsp; resulting in the referees making a trip just for that single game. The only exception to t= his rule will be games cancelled by Do-It-All Management or circumstances that Do-It-All management w= ill decide on.

·         Players being ejected from 2 games in one se= ason will result in that player being ejected from the rest of the league sessio= n, including playoffs. No refunds.
